The total volume of telecommunications business calculated according to the unchanged price of the previous year increased by 12.5% year-on-year. From January to April, the three basic telecommunications enterprises completed the revenue of Internet broadband business at 89.18 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6% year-on-year, accounting for 15.1% of the revenue of the telecommunications business, and the proportion increased by 0.2 percentage points compared with the first quarter, driving the growth of the telecommunications business revenue by 0.8 percentage points.
TapTechNews noted that the data showed that as of the end of April, the total number of 5G base stations reached 3.748 million, an increase of 372,000 from the end of the previous year, accounting for 31.7% of the total number of mobile base stations, and the proportion increased by 1.1 percentage points compared with the first quarter.
As of the end of April, the number of national Internet broadband access ports reached 1.16 billion, an increase of 23.87 million from the end of the previous year. Among them, the fiber access (FTTH/O) port reached 1.12 billion, an increase of 25.47 million from the end of the previous year, accounting for 96.6% of the Internet broadband access port. As of the end of April, the number of 10G PON ports with gigabit network service capabilities reached 24.99 million, an increase of 1.971 million from the end of the previous year.
