Microsoft Launches New Xbox Preview Update with Installation Options and Fixes

TapTechNews July 17th news, Microsoft today released a new preview update for Xbox Insider program members in the Alpha and AlphaSkip-Ahead channels, focusing on being able to try out a brand new game installation feature.

New Additions

Game Installation Options: Players can choose what to install

For games that require additional downloadable content or features to install, Microsoft has now added a new option "Choose what to install" (select the content to install).

This option allows players to further control the game installation before starting the game, for reasons such as saving hard drive storage space, reducing download time, or not being interested in certain content.

The Xbox Accessories App

Microsoft has introduced a new way for users to easily turn off connected devices after using them.

TapTechNews note: When the Xbox is powered on and the peripheral is connected to the Xbox console, users can open the Xbox Accessories app, select the More Options menu (three dots) for the device, and then select Turn Off Device.
