Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun Focuses on Car Manufacturing, No Large-Scale Charging Station Plan Yet

He pointed out: Xiaomi's current primary task is to focus on car manufacturing and is committed to making the Xiaomi SU7 the electric vehicle with the best compatibility and convenience with public charging piles.

Lei Jun believes that currently the number of public charging piles is sufficient. Through testing 70,000 public charging piles, Xiaomi has promoted the improvement of hundreds of problems, significantly enhancing the compatibility and convenience of use of the charging piles.

In March this year, Lei Jun announced at the launch event of Xiaomi cars that Xiaomi cars is building its own super charging network (TapTechNews note: the first batch is gradually advancing in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou), adopting a 600kW liquid-cooled super charging solution.

In addition to public charging piles, Xiaomi has also launched home charging piles, claiming one-click opening, plug and charge, and also supports OTA upgrade. Among them, the 7kW charging power version is 3999 yuan, and the 11kW charging power version is 5999 yuan.

According to the official introduction of Xiaomi, the Xiaomi SU7 has continuously carried out more than 70,000 charges in the previous road tests, and gradually optimized more than 500 charging compatibility problems in cooperation with different manufacturers. It is claimed that a total of more than 200 different models of charging piles have been tested, a total of 18,900, and has achieved compatibility with more than 99% of third-party charging piles.
