WeRide's Driverless Sweeper to Launch in Shantou, a Landmark in Unmanned Sanitation

TapTechNews August 22nd news, WeRide today announced that it will work with Guangdong Huadalong to jointly promote the commercial landing of WeRide's driverless sweeper in Shantou, Guangdong. This is the first L4-level public road unmanned sanitation commercial project in Shantou City, and also the debut of WeRide's driverless sweeper S1 (hereinafter referred to as WeRide Sweeper S1) in Shantou.

According to the introduction, WeRide Sweeper S1 was released in April this year and is the world's first L4-level driverless sanitation equipment for open roads that can cover all scenarios, suitable for all kinds of hard ground, and can penetrate into various pavement environments such as squares, auxiliary roads, and sidewalks.

TapTechNews found out that WeRide Sweeper S1 provides three configuration versions: Air, Pro, and Max. The vehicle length is 2570mm (excluding the broom), the minimum turning radius is 2700mm (outline), the water tank capacity is 400 liters, the garbage bin capacity is 240 liters, and the single charge can operate an area of more than 120,000 square meters. It can be deployed in scenarios such as auxiliary roads, sidewalks, parks, and greenways to provide unmanned cleaning and sprinkler dust reduction services.

WeRide Sweeper S1 has started to conduct safety tests at the Chaoren Wharf Square in Shantou City since June this year, and after the trial operation ends, it will carry out regular unmanned sanitation operations covering day and night in the entire Haibin Road area.
