ASUS Launches Z790 GAMING WIFI 7 Motherboard with Wi-Fi 7 Support

TapTechNews June 28th news, ASUS has recently for the first time extended Wi-Fi 7 support to the Prime product line and launched the Z790 GAMING WIFI 7 motherboard.

This motherboard adopts a 14 (50A) + 1 (60A) + 1-phase power supply design, uses a dual-channel 2SPC with a total of four DDR5 memory slots design, and supports 7200 MT/s memory overclocking.

The ASUS Z790 GAMING WIFI 7 motherboard is equipped with 3 PCIe slots, including one alloy-reinforced full-length PCIe 5.0 main slot, one physically full-length PCIe 4.0 × 4 slot and one PCIe 3.0 × 1 slot.

This motherboard is furnished with 3 PCIe 4.0 × 4 bays, one directly from the CPU, and the other two are provided by the chipset. Among them, one in the M.2 slot directly from the CPU and one in the chipset-provided M.2 slot support 22110, and the other provided by the chipset is 2280.

This motherboard also has 4 SATA3 interfaces.

Interestingly, although the ASUS Z790 GAMING WIFI 7 motherboard is equipped with a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network card, it still uses a Realtek gigabit wired network card, and the two parts' specifications are not coordinated.

The motherboard is equipped with a non-integrated rear IO panel and provides 1 20 Gbps Type-C interface, 1 10 G Type-A interface, 2 5 G Type-A interfaces, 4 USB 2.0 interfaces, and also an HDMI interface.

In terms of the front USB, the Z790 GAMING WIFI 7 provides 1 set of one out and one 5 Gbps Type-C pin header, 2 sets of one out and two 5 Gbps Type-A pin headers, and 2 sets of one out and two USB 2.0 pin headers.

In addition, ASUS has also reserved a set of Thunderbolt (USB4) pin headers for this motherboard.

The ASUS Z790 GAMING WIFI 7 is also equipped with a Q-LED Core error indicator light. This motherboard is about to go on the market in the Japanese market, and the tax-included pricing is 29,980 yen (TapTechNews note: currently about 1,361 yuan).
