WeChat Input Method Update New Stand-Alone Mode

TapTechNews on May 21st reports that currently, the official website and major app stores of WeChat Input Method show its latest version as 1.2.4, but the actual downloaded Android version number through the download link provided on the official website (click here to enter) has been upgraded to 1.3.0. This version adds a stand-alone mode, which doesn't require an internet connection and is used purely locally.

The iOS version 1.3.0 of WeChat Input Method is being tested on Apple TestFlight, and the official version will be pushed for update on the App Store later.

The interface of WeChat Input Method shows the following characteristics of the stand-alone mode:

No need for an internet connection, used offline in stand-alone mode

Ensures efficient input without reducing typing efficiency

Doesn't support online functions such as voice input and cross-device.

After tested by TapTechNews, to enable the stand-alone mode, it is necessary to download the local word bank. Once enabled, the input method will be in an offline state and doesn't support online functions such as voice-to-text and cross-device copy-paste.
