OpenAI Signs Agreement with NewsCorp

TapTechNews note: NewsCorp is a publishing multinational company located in the United States and is formed by splitting the newspaper and publishing business of the former NewsCorp.

OpenAI will obtain the current and archived content of NewsCorp's major news and information publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, MarketWatch, Investor's Business Daily, FN and The New York Post; The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun; The Australian, news.com.au, The Daily Telegraph, The Courier-Mail, The Advertiser and The Herald Sun, etc. This cooperation does not include access to the content of other businesses of NewsCorp.

Neither company disclosed the terms of the transaction, but a report in The Wall Street Journal estimated that NewsCorp will receive $250 million (TapTechNews note: currently about 1.81 billion yuan) in cash and royalties within five years.

OpenAI will obtain the latest content and archive content of NewsCorp's publications. Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, said in a statement:
