Huawei's Data Storage Serving Globally and Insights on Semiconductor and AI

TapTechNews September 28th news, during the 2024 China Computing Power Conference held from September 27th to 29th, Zhou Yuefeng, vice president of Huawei and president of the data storage product line, was invited to attend the main forum of the conference and deliver a keynote speech.

TapTechNews learned from the speech that Huawei's data storage has so far served more than 28,000 customers worldwide, spreading across more than 150 countries and regions, and has cumulatively protected 30,000 petabytes of data globally. Zhou Yuefeng also said that 53 of the world's top 100 banks have chosen Huawei's data storage.

Zhou Yuefeng mentioned in the speech that China's semiconductor manufacturing process will remain backward for a considerable period of time, and only the computing power built based on the actually obtainable chip manufacturing process is long-term sustainable. The intelligent era is the golden age of data. Core AI fields such as AI large models, embodied intelligence, and AI for science rely heavily on data and are driven by data. Data traffic and data storage capacity form the two most important indicators of the digital economy in the AI era: data traffic reflects the degree of activity of digitization in human society, and data storage capacity reflects the degree of accumulation of data assets.
