China Successfully Conducts Vertical High-Altitude Engine Simulation Test

TapTechNews May 16th news, according to the official news of 'China Aerospace Science and Technology Group', on May 15, the ignition test of the test bench of China's first engine vertical high-altitude simulation test bench developed and constructed by the 101 Institute of the Sixth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group achieved a complete success, indicating that the largest vertical high-altitude simulation test bench in Asia has been completely built and has the test ability. This test bench can realize the high-altitude simulation test ability of the engine in the vacuum working environment below kilopascal level for thousands of seconds continuously, and has the whole-process active ejection ability. The overall comprehensive index has reached the international advanced level. The completion of this test bench fills the gap of the vertical high-altitude simulation test bench of liquid rocket engines in China, improves the test verification ability of liquid power, and will provide an important guarantee for the implementation of major aerospace projects in China as scheduled, and provide important technical support for the subsequent construction of test conditions for heavy launch vehicles. Xia Wei, the deputy chief engineer of the 101 Institute project, introduced that due to a variety of factors, in the past, the test bench in the high-altitude simulation field of our hydrogen-oxygen engines was mainly a horizontal test bench. Compared with the horizontal test bench, the vertical high-altitude simulation test bench built this time can better simulate the working state of the engine at high altitude. This test bench completed all construction and commissioning work in one year, and this project has also become the project with the largest construction scale, the highest technical difficulty, and the shortest construction cycle in the test facility construction project of the 101 Institute.
