MediaTek to Launch Dimensity 9400 Chip in October with Advanced Features
TapTechNews August 3rd news, MediaTek held an earnings call on July 31st, and the company's CEO, Rick Tsai, announced that the Dimensity 9400 chip will be launched in October and estimated that the company will return to a normal seasonal pattern in the second half of 2024.
Rick Tsai said that the Dimensity 9300 chip created 1 billion US dollars in revenue for the company in 2023, boosting revenue growth by 70%, and the upcoming Dimensity 9400 chip is more advanced and is expected to achieve greater success.
Dimensity 9400 Chip
According to the information currently leaked on the Internet, like the Dimensity 9300, the Dimensity 9400 has no high-efficiency cores, all of which are performance cores, providing excellent single-core and multi-core performance using Arm's BlackHawk CPU architecture.
The Die size of the Dimensity 9400 chip is estimated to reach 150 square millimeters and has 30 billion transistors, which brings huge caches and upgraded neural processing units, and is more capable of handling AI tasks.
TapTechNews quoted the media report that compared to the 48 TOPS of the Dimensity 9300, the NPU computing power of the Dimensity 9400 will also increase by 40%, leading the market in terms of NPU computing power.
Rick Tsai said that the average selling price (ASP) of the Dimensity 9400 chip will also be higher than that of the previous generation and is actively exploring the international market.
Automotive Chip
MediaTek and NVIDIA are collaborating on automotive chips and are expected to release the first product in early 2025. MediaTek provides CPU + ISP, and Lao Huang is responsible for the GPU. Currently, there is no relevant information disclosure, and the automotive chip is expected to have significant progress from 2027 to 2028.
