Motorola to Enter 'Item Tracker' Market with MotoTag

TapTechNews reports on June 15 that Motorola is set to make a push in the 'item tracker' space with its product named MotoTag, which has now appeared on the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in the United Arab Emirates with the model number XT2445-1.

Aside from confirming the device model and its classification as a 'hort-range device/low-power device', the TDRA website currently offers no other useful information and no photos of the MotoTag.

Upon researching public information, TapTechNews found that Motorola first launched the 'SmartTag' in 2017. It is a circular device with a small space on top for clipping onto keys and other items. There is a slender horizontal green light at the bottom of the device to indicate its activation status.

However, the emergence of Motorola's brand tracker is not unexpected as Google had already confirmed in April that it would launch a Motorola brand tracker. It is reported that Eufy and Jio will also join the ranks of original equipment manufacturers and they will enter the network with brand-new trackers.
