AMD to Release Mid-to-Low-End 800-Series Motherboards in 2025

TapTechNews August 22nd news, the German media ComputerBase reported that according to its communication with multiple motherboard manufacturers at the gamescom2024 Cologne Game Show, the mid-to-low-end models B850 and B840 of AMD's 800-series motherboard product line are expected to be launched next year.

Specifically, the AMD B850 and B840 motherboards are expected to be released at CES2025. Before the launch of these two series of motherboards, AM5 platform users can choose the new X870(E) product (TapTechNews note: expected to be on sale on September 30) or the previous-generation 600-series motherboard.

According to AMD's official introduction, The B850 motherboard is for mainstream mid-range overclocking players, and it needs to be equipped with a PCIe5.0 NVMe solid-state drive slot, optional graphics card PCIe5.0 support, supports USB3.2 Gen2×2 20Gbps, and allows CPU and memory overclocking.

While the B640 motherboard is a cost-effective entry-level motherboard for SI (System Integrator), commercial and other environments, which supports PCIe3.0, allows memory overclocking but does not support CPU overclocking.
