Nvidia Releases New Driver Update for Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 Users

TapTechNews June 6th, although Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 systems have officially stopped being supported , Nvidia still prepares a new graphics driver update for users remaining on these systems and has newly released version 475.06.

Since Microsoft no longer certifies driver programs for Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, the 475.06 version released by Nvidia this time is not a WHQL driver and does not contain any fixes, optimizations, or new features related to games or functions.

Nvidia's driver update released this time mainly fixes security vulnerabilities, but the update log does not submit which vulnerabilities have been specifically fixed. Nvidia may announce it separately after most users have installed it.

TapTechNews cites Statcounter data that Windows 7 has a global market share of 2.86%. In terms of games, Windows 7 only accounts for 0.38%. Although the proportion is relatively low, the number of users still remaining on old systems is still very considerable considering that there are more than 1.5 billion Windows PCs worldwide.
