TapTechNews July 11th news, Polestar (Polestar) has released a stunning two-seater convertible concept car - Concept BST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new car is based on the upcoming Polestar 6 and hints at the possibility that Polestar may launch a flagship model that focuses on track performance in the future.
Concept BST can be regarded as the track-enhanced version of Polestar 6, adding a detachable hardtop, a vented engine cover, a front spoiler, a large rear spoiler, widened wheel arches and a significantly widened body, adopting the same bonded aluminium unibody platform as Polestar 6.
The new car is equipped with 22-inch alloy wheels and is the second Polestar model named after BST after the limited edition 2BST Edition 270, which has a lower chassis height, stiffer springs and adjustable dampers.
Polestar has not yet disclosed the details of the power system of Concept BST, but it is likely to continue to use the same dual-motor four-wheel drive system as Polestar 6, with a maximum power of 875 horsepower and a peak torque of 900 pound-feet, and also adopts an 800V battery architecture that supports fast charging.
TapTechNews noticed that although Polestar has not yet confirmed whether Concept BST will be put into mass production, the chief executive officer Thomas Ingenlath hinted at this possibility when describing the car, saying that it is a way to show how we will apply the BST concept to the product line in the future. At the same time, the mass-produced convertible version of Polestar 6 with a limited quantity of 500 units also completed its dynamic debut at this speed festival, and currently all the quotas of this model have been sold out.
