Ransomware Attacks Over 50% by 6 Gangs in First Half of 2024

TapTechNews August 15th news, the Unit42 department under PaloAltoNetworks released the Ransomware Review in the First Half of 2024, and found that in ransomware attack events in the first half of this year, more than 50% came from 6 ransomware gangs.

The department monitored 53 active ransomware gangs and counted that these teams released a total of 1762 ransomware announcements in the first half of this year, an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period last year, and the number of announcements in February increased by 49%.

The report shows that in the first half of 2024, the first 6 ransomware gangs launched more than 50%  of the attacks. TapTechNews attached the brief information as follows:
