This is a new type of meter-gauge EMU independently developed by China and tailored for Malaysia after ETS and ETS2, which will be used on the West Coast Line of Malaysia, with a total line length of about 950 kilometers (about 590 miles).

TapTechNews note: A meter-gauge railway refers to a narrow-gauge railway with a gauge (track width) of 1 meter, and currently such railways are still used in Yunnan, China, France, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, and other places.

It is reported that this train has the characteristics of intelligence, economy, safety and comfort, which will greatly improve the passenger-carrying capacity and operating efficiency of the local rail transit network and boost the modernization of Malaysia's rail transit.

The train adopts a 6-car formation (4 motors and 2 trailers), providing 312 seats, with an operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour (about 100 miles per hour) and a minimum turning radius of 100 meters (about 328 feet). Ren Zewen, an electrical designer in the EMU System R & D Department of CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd., said that the train that was rolled out this time has stronger power and a larger battery capacity than the previous generation, with a 24.5% increase in starting tractive force and a 14.2% increase in starting acceleration; in case of emergency, the vehicle can continue to ventilate and maintain the work of emergency equipment for up to 2 hours.

The train is also equipped with an intelligent driver assistance driving system for the first time, which can provide a more economic driving strategy based on the intelligent analysis of the line environment. At the same time, through the remote wireless transmission system between the vehicle and the ground, the real-time monitoring of the vehicle status can be realized. In addition, the business car of this train is equipped with a fully enclosed luggage compartment for the first time, equipped with audio-visual on-demand system, wireless Internet access, and quick meal ordering and other facilities.
