TapTechNews previously reported that AMD has admitted the existence of this vulnerability and started to release security updates for some chips. But according to Tom'sHardware, Ryzen 1000, 2000, 3000 series and Threadripper 1000, 2000 series processors will not be able to get the repair patch. AMD said that these products have exceeded the software support cycle. However, the newer AMD processors and all embedded processors have already or will soon receive security updates.

Sinkclose vulnerability is considered to be a greater threat to government agencies and other large organizations, and the impact on ordinary users is relatively small, and attackers need to have a deeper level of access to the target system to exploit this vulnerability. However, researchers warned that once the Sinkclose vulnerability is exploited, the consequences will be extremely serious, and hackers can bypass the chip's system management mode protection mechanism to execute malicious code.
