GAC Aion's May Sales Surge, New AION V to be Launched

TapTechNews on Jun 1st, Aion, a brand under GAC, announced today that its global sales exceeded 40,073 units in May, with a month-on-month increase of 42.5%. The global tasting of the second-generation AION V has begun, and the global version of Hyper GT is about to be listed.

For comparison, GAC Aion's global sales in April were 28,113 units, and its global sales in March were 32,530 units. May became the best month in terms of sales performance in the past three months.

TapTechNews noted that the new AION V mentioned by GAC Aion will be officially launched in July. This car has already made its debut at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, positioned as a new hard-core intelligent driving SUV, known as the pure electric T-Rex.

In terms of appearance, it adopts a new hard-core mechanical style design, with dragon claw headlights and dragon bone waistline. In addition, this car adopts a new generation of AEP pure electric digital platform, and the interior space is increased by 20%, with a car length of 4605mm (about 15.1 feet) and a wheelbase of 2775mm (about 9.1 feet).

In terms of configuration, it is currently known that this car is equipped with functions such as a tablet-like central control screen, a warm and cold refrigerator, four-zone voice interaction, and one-click automatic seat reclining, and supports external kitchen and bathroom. In terms of intelligence, this car will support map-free intelligent driving and can achieve urban NDA, highway NDA, one-click remote parking and other assisted driving, and is equipped with an AI cabin.
