TapTechNews August 5th news, according to MotorAuthority's report last Saturday, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius recently revealed in the company's earnings call that the company will launch pure electric versions of the C-Class and GLC in 2026.

Both new cars will adopt a styling design different from the current models, and the appearance is more aerodynamic than the corresponding current fuel cars. In addition, these two cars also plan to launch AMG modified versions.

Ola Källenius confirmed that the new cars will use the brand-new MB.EA electric vehicle dedicated platform, and when these two cars are launched, it will further boost the sales of Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles.

In addition to the MB.EA platform, Mercedes also plans to develop the MMA platform for compact electric vehicles and hybrids, the AMG.EA platform for AMG high-performance electric vehicles, and the Van.EA platform for electric light commercial vehicles. The MMA platform will make its debut on the CLA-class electric vehicle next year, and the AMG.EA platform is also expected to make its debut on the successor model of the GT four-door coupe next year. The prototypes of these two models are also being tested.

Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz announced that it will reduce the production of the S-Class and EQS models, both of which are top sedans under Mercedes-Benz.
