Edge Browser's Desktop User Share Hits Record High in July

TapTechNews August 5th news, according to the latest statistics of Statcounter, in July this year, the desktop user share of Edge browser reached 13.74%, an increase of 0.39 percentage points month-on-month, setting a new historical high. In contrast, the market share of Edge in July last year was only 10.76%.

Chrome still firmly holds the top spot in the browser, with a market share of 64.72%, a slight increase of 0.03 percentage points. Apple's Safari browser ranked third with a market share of 9.1%, and as an exclusive browser for the macOS system, its growth momentum is also good, with a month-on-month increase of 0.07 percentage points.

Ranked fourth is Mozilla Firefox, with a market share of 6.64%, an increase of 0.09 percentage points. With Chrome about to abandon the Manifest V2 extension, this browser may welcome a new wave of users. The abolition of Manifest V2 means that some extensions, especially ad blockers, will have limited functions, while Firefox does not plan to abandon Manifest V2 for the time being.
