TapTechNews July 16th news, Micron today launched a DDR5 MRDIMM memory tailored for AI and HPC scenarios, which is only compatible with Intel Xeon 6 processors.
Micron has launched five capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 96GB, 128GB, and 256GB, with a rate of 8800 MT/s DDR5 MRDIMM memory, providing standard height and TFF two physical forms.
According to the introduction, compared with traditional RDIMM memory, MRDIMM memory can achieve:
The memory bandwidth is increased by up to 39% at most.
The bus efficiency is improved by more than 15%.
The delay improvement is up to 40% at most.
TapTechNews note: JEDEC has not officially released the MRDIMM memory standard yet, and the above products currently only support Intel Xeon 6 processors.
In addition to Micron, Samsung is also developing 8800 MT/s MRDIMM memory and has currently entered the sampling stage.
