BYD Yangwang U8 Extended Version Spotted, Targets Urban Use and Competes with Range Rover

TapTechNews August 11th news, a set of spy photos suspected to be the extended version of BYD Yangwang U8 was exposed by the Di Fans Home.

It is known that this new car will weaken the off-road function and mainly be for urban use. The target competing model is the Range Rover Vogue Extended Wheelbase. The new car will be equipped with a softer Yunian P suspension system to improve ride comfort.

According to TapTechNews, the body size of the current Yangwang U8 is 5325x2095x1940 millimeters (about 5.1 meters without the spare tire), and the length of the new car is expected to increase further. The car length without the spare tire is expected to exceed 5.2 meters.

Since the launch of Yangwang U8, as of July this year, the cumulative sales have reached 7940 units. In the sales ranking of domestic models with a price of more than $150,000 in 2024, Yangwang U8 leads far ahead with a sales volume of 5055 units in half a year, far ahead of the 3853 units of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, ranking first. Among the top ten, except for Yangwang U8, the rest are all imported luxury brands such as BBA, Porsche and Land Rover.
