Normally, Google will push the major Android version update for Pixel devices when it releases the source code of the new Android version.

Previously, the Google Pixel hardware team and the team responsible for AOSP were separate, and this year both departments are under the purview of Rick Osterloh.

TapTechNews reported in August that Google launched an internal reorganization in April this year, merging the hardware, Android system and Chrome browser teams, and unified them under the management of Senior Vice President Rick Osterloh.

It is reported that Google has decided to postpone the release of the Android 15 update in order to improve stability, and currently plans to release the Android 15 update for Pixel phones in mid-October.

Google plans to release the source code of Android 15 next week, which means there may be a 30-day or even longer interval between the source code release and the Pixel OTA update.
