BMW to Introduce Ramp Assistant Feature in China
TapTechNews June 22 news, according to 'BmwCar' news, BMW will introduce Ramp Assistant Feature (AutoLaneGuidance) in the domestic market, which can cooperate with the Auto Lane Change Assist Feature with Sight Confirmation, and the adaptive models will include BMW 5 Series / i5, 7 Series, i7, X5, X7, etc.
TapTechNews learned that Ramp Assistant (ALG) is an extended function of the Auto Lane Change Assist Feature with Sight Confirmation (ALC). When the assisted driving function is turned on and the vehicle navigation is used to drive on a closed road (such as a highway or loop road), when the vehicle navigation route needs to exit the closed road, the vehicle will issue a lane change prompt in advance. At this time, by using the Auto Lane Change Assist Feature with Sight Confirmation (turning the head to look at the right side exterior mirror), the vehicle will automatically change lanes to the right lane (ramp) to exit the closed road exit. At the same time, the distance from the ramp exit (such as 600 meters) will be displayed on the instrument panel.
Usage conditions:
Equipped with the Pro Active Driving Assistant System
Turn on the Auto Lane Change Assist Feature and the Attention Monitoring Camera in the center console
Turn on the assisted driving function (button on the steering wheel)
Driving on a closed highway, loop road or expressway
Speed not less than 60 kilometers per hour (65 kilometers per hour for the Ramp Assistant Feature)

Equipped from the production month starting from July this year: standard axle BMW 5 Series, standard axle BMW i5, BMW 7 Series, BMW i7, BMW iX (for production months from November 2023 to June 2024, and with an integration level of 11/23 or higher in the vehicle machine, which can be obtained through the RSU remote software upgrade function)
Equipped from the production month starting from August this year: BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW XM, BMW X5M, BMW X6M (for production months from December 2023 to July 2024, and with an integration level of 11/23 or higher in the vehicle machine, which can be obtained through the RSU remote software upgrade function)
