The lawsuit alleges that this may cause a jerking sensation in the X1 when driving at low speed or exiting an intersection. The plaintiff believes that more seriously, this SUV becomes dangerous because it makes the driver lose control, and sometimes it rolls on its own, which may be opposite to the intended direction of travel of the driver.

TapTechNews note: The 2023 BMW X1 SUV has increased the output power of the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine by 13 horsepower and replaced the eight-speed traditional automatic transmission of the old model with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The lawsuit points out that the roll problem may stem from the failure of the clutch actuator, the defect of the clutch components, and the problems existing in the system connecting the engine, transmission, and braking software. The plaintiff believes that BMW should compensate the car owner and bear the cost of the car owner repairing the defective SUV.
