Samsung Launches SmartThings FamilyCare in the US to Meet the Needs of an Aging Society

Users can use this service to set schedules for the elderly's medication, check-ups, and even receive reminders to timely arrange the next doctor's appointment. In addition, the system can also detect the daily activities of the elderly through mobile phones and send relevant notifications. For example, when the elderly start their daily activities, the system will issue a reminder; if abnormal daily behaviors are found, it will also promptly notify the caregiver. The geofencing function can track the location of the elderly in real-time to ensure their safety.

As part of Samsung's smart home ecosystem, SmartThings FamilyCare can also help caregivers remotely control smart home devices at home to prevent the elderly from forgetting to turn off the lights and monitor the air quality to ensure breathing health.

Samsung's SmartThings FamilyCare service will go online on August 16th.
