TapTechNews reported on May 16th that on the second day of the I/O 2024 developer conference, Google released the Android 15 Beta 2 update for Pixel phones as scheduled. Overall, the update is not significant, just an incremental update from last month's Android 15 Beta.
Here are the main new features of the Android 15 Beta 2 update according to TapTechNews:
This feature allows users to create separate areas for Android apps, Google likened it to applications that you don't want others to easily access or see, and requires fingerprint, password, or other authentication methods to access these apps from the bottom of the app drawer.
For example, you can hide health or banking apps in the private space, keeping your personal information only for your own viewing.
For tablets and foldable devices, users can choose to save app pairs. Similar to fixed apps, create a split screen, then tap the new button in the Commonly used menu to add it to the main screen.
In Android 15, predictive return (used for returning to the origin point, across tasks, and activities) will no longer be located behind the Developer option.
