BYD Unveils Seal 07 DM-i and 2025 Seal with New Technologies

TapTechNews August 5th news, it was reported earlier this month that BYD Seal 07 DM-i/EV will be launched on August 8, and now this news has been officially confirmed, but the official name is set as Seal 07 DM-i and 2025 Seal.

Zhang Zhuo, general manager of the sales division of BYD Auto's Ocean Network, preheated that the 2025 Seal is equipped with many hardcore technologies, it is the first sedan equipped with e-platform 3.0 Evo; the Seal 07 DM-i will be equipped with the fifth-generation DM technology, achieving new breakthroughs in fuel consumption, range and other aspects of the same-class products.

Seal 07 DM-i

The Seal 07 DM-i adopts the family-style front face design of the Ocean Network, with sharp headlights on both sides, a溜背式 side curve and a semi-hidden door handle, and a popular through-type taillight at the rear. The body size of the Seal 07 DM-i is 4980*1890*1495mm (about 163.4*74.4*58.9 inches), and the wheelbase is 2900mm (about 114.2 inches).

This car provides two power options of 1.5-liter plug-in hybrid and 1.5T plug-in hybrid. The 1.5-liter engine has a maximum power of 74 kilowatts, combined with a drive motor with a maximum power of 160 kilowatts; the 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 115 kilowatts, combined with a drive motor with a maximum power of 200 kilowatts.

In terms of the battery, the car provides two battery capacity versions of 10.08 kWh and 17.626 kWh, corresponding to the pure electric range of 55 kilometers and 100 kilometers (about 34.2 miles and 62.1 miles) respectively, and the comprehensive fuel consumption in the lowest state of charge per 100 kilometers is 4.2 liters, 4.4 liters, and 4.7 liters.

2025 Seal

The 2025 Seal adds a new Sky Purple exterior color and a Sardine Orange interior color. The cockpit is equipped with a floating central control screen, and its seat is printed with a unique wavy texture, which is in line with the ocean style. The front of the cockpit is equipped with wireless charging, cup holders, and multiple physical buttons around the gear lever and the steering wheel to facilitate user operation.

For reference, the length, width and height of the currently sold Seal are 4800/1875/1460mm (about 189/73.8/57.5 inches) respectively, and the wheelbase is 2920mm (about 114.9 inches). The CLTC operating range of the currently sold Seal Glory Edition rear-wheel drive model is 550 kilometers and 700 kilometers, and that of the four-wheel drive model is 650 kilometers.
