MIIT cracks down on apps infringing on users' rights

On June 28th, TapTechNews reported that, in accordance with laws and regulations such as the Personal Information Protection Law, the Cyber Security Law, the Telecommunications Regulations, and the Provisions on the Protection of Personal Information of Telecommunications and Internet Users, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) continues to rectify the illegal acts of apps infringing on users' rights and interests.

Recently, the MIIT organized third-party testing institutions to conduct spot checks and found that a total of 22 apps and SDKs have acts of infringing on users' rights and interests, and are now notified. TapTechNews attached the list as follows:

The MIIT stated that the above apps and SDKs should be rectified in accordance with the relevant regulations. If the rectification is not implemented in place, our ministry will organize and carry out relevant disposal work in accordance with the law.
