TapTechNews August 7th news, Mozilla Corporation yesterday (August 6th) released the Firefox 129 stable version update of the Firefox browser, mainly introducing the ReaderView feature, mouse-hover tab preview and other functions.
The download address of the Firefox 129 browser stable version: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/129.0/.
The Firefox 129 stable version enhanced the 'Text and Layout' menu in ReaderView, adding character-spacing, word-spacing, and text alignment options. TapTechNews attached the relevant screenshots as follows:
The new version also introduced a new theme menu for ReaderView, adding contrast and gray options. Users can also select custom colors for text, background, and links from the 'Custom' tab.
After users hover the mouse over the tab, a tab preview will be displayed, making it easier to find the desired tab without having to switch tabs.
HTTPS will replace HTTP as the default protocol in the address bar of non-local websites. If a website cannot be accessed via HTTPS, Firefox will fall back to HTTP.
HTTPS DNS records can now be resolved using the operating system's DNS resolver on specific platforms (Windows 11, Linux, Android 10+), while previously related operations required enabling DNS over HTTPS.
This feature does not require the use of Alt-Svc headers, supports the use of HTTP/3, upgrades the request to HTTPS when the DNS record exists, and can be used more widely with ECH.
Added support for macOS VoiceOver to use multiple languages in the same document.
The address autofill function is now enabled for users in France and Germany.
