Apple Updates Wi-Fi Options in New Test Versions

TapTechNews June 11th news, in the iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia test versions released by Apple today, in the Wi-Fi setting option, the "PrivateWi-FiAddress" option has been replaced by the "RotateWi-FiAddress" option.

Apple said that after this Wi-Fi option upgrade, when users join any Wi-Fi hotspot network, they can open the setting option and choose to enable it as "RotateWi-FiAddress", and after enabling it, your Wi-Fi address will be randomly changed.

After this option is enabled, it can change your Wi-Fi address at different time intervals, which helps reduce tracking. If users always use the same Wi-Fi address, it is very easy to be tracked.

Like the previous "Private Wi-FiAddress" option, after users enable the "RotateWi-FiAddress" option, Apple will assign a different MAC address for each Wi-Fi network connected by the device.
