Tandem OLED, compared to the ordinary OLED currently in use, is a stacked device that connects multiple electro-luminescent devices of pixels through an intermediate connection layer, and has the advantages of higher peak brightness, lower power consumption and longer service life.

Currently confirmed commercial Tandem OLED products include the Honor Magic6 RSR Porsche Design model, whose screen is jointly developed by Honor and BOE, and the official name is 'Honor Stacked Light Oasis Eye Protection Screen'; and the all-new Apple iPad Pro, which Apple officially calls 'double-layer tandem OLED technology'.
