Google to Bring Gemini AI to Chromebook Plus Laptops

TapTechNews May 28th, Google today announced that it will bring the Gemini artificial intelligence and the AI functions on other devices of the company to Chromebook Plus laptops, including the models already on sale from Asus and HP, as well as the new product to be launched by Acer. These existing and future Chromebook Plus models will all support Google's new features such as Help Me Write, as well as the function of creating custom wallpapers using generative AI. Google Photos' Magic Editor will also be available on Chromebook Plus, which has previously landed on some older Android devices.

TapTechNews noticed that Google has added a Gemini icon to the application Dock bar to allow users to access the function more quickly and easily. For users who buy the new Plus laptop, Google also gives a 12-month free Google One AI Premium package, which includes the advanced version of Gemini, 2 terabytes of cloud storage space, and the Gemini functions integrated in Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail.

In addition, Google has also released some new functions applicable to all Chromebooks (including Plus and standard versions): allowing Android phones to directly share Wi-Fi and login credentials with new Chromebooks through QR codes, the function of making GIFs from screen recordings, and the built-in Google Tasks viewer.
