In response, XPeng Motors said: According to the preliminary analysis of background data, the fire of the power battery is initially excluded, and the further cause of the fire is still under investigation.

TapTechNews noted that in February this year, it was reported that a XPeng P7 was traveling at high speed in rainy weather and finally had a traffic accident at the intersection of Suzhentao Highway and Sijin Road in Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and the vehicle caught fire upon impact.

XPeng Motors responded at that time that it had received the notice of data retrieval from the traffic police department and legally provided the relevant data. The data showed that the vehicle was in a normal state before the accident, the assisted driving function was not enabled, there was high-speed driving behavior before the impact, the maximum speed reached 105 miles per hour, and the speed at the time of impact reached 90 miles per hour.
