BMW to Recall 105,558 Vehicles in US for Starter Motor Overheating Issue

TapTechNews August 11th news, according to Reuters, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that BMW will recall 105,558 vehicles in the United States to address the problem that the starter motor may overheat.

TapTechNews learned that the recalled models include 2019 and 2020 BMW X5, X7, 3 Series, 7 Series and other models.

NHTSA said that if the starter motor fails, repeated attempts to start the vehicle may cause the starter motor to overheat, and in the worst case, it may lead to a fire in the engine compartment.

BMW will issue a software update to solve the problem related to the overheating of the starter motor, and the owner notification letters are expected to arrive in late September.
