TapTechNews noticed that although Elden Ring is the most accessible RPG work of FromSoftware, it still lacks many convenient features (such as quest logs) that modern players expect. Hidetaka Miyazaki himself said: "This is more about my personal preference for RPGs and exploring fantasy worlds, so you may see some of my personal traits in Elden Ring. For me, the excitement comes from seeing the world map and piecing it together bit by bit. So when we were finally able to do this when making Elden Ring, it was really a wonderful moment for me personally."

Hidetaka Miyazaki also said, "In the previous interview about Elden Ring, I seem to have mentioned that I am still making my ideal fantasy RPG. Although Elden Ring is still a little short, it is also very close and is gradually moving towards that goal."

The reporter naturally followed up and asked what exactly is lacking in his ideal "ideal" RPG. Hidetaka Miyazaki replied with a smile: "It's hard to say because I don't want to spoil my next idea or our next game. But I think one factor that makes it difficult for my ideal to be fulfilled is not what it lacks, but when I play the game, I know all the things that will happen next. I already know everything about the game. So it is difficult for me to enjoy the game from the perspective of the player. I really hope someone else can make my ideal fantasy game. If possible, then I can simply enjoy it as a player."
