Apple's New Move Developing Affordable VisionPro

According to TapTechNews on June 23, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg revealed in the latest issue of PowerOn newsletter that Apple is developing an affordable version of VisionPro. This head-mounted display code-named N107 is said to have a narrower FOV angle (TapTechNews note: the current VisionPro is about 100 degrees), and it is said that it will need to be connected to Mac/iPhone to use, and the logic is similar to AppleWatch.

Gurman reiterated that Apple hopes to launch a more affordable Vision headset as early as the end of 2025. Nevertheless, Apple is still working hard to reduce costs while retaining key functions. For comparison, the starting price of the current VisionPro head-mounted display is $29,999.

However, no matter what downgrades Apple finally makes on the affordable version of the Vision device, one thing is for sure: the new device will definitely surpass its predecessor in one aspect - it must be equipped with the M4 or even M5 chip.

The current VisionPro still uses the M2 chip, which is already two generations behind the latest iPadPro. The gap will be even greater by the end of next year. If Apple continues to sell VisionPro at that time, then the more expensive Pro version is equipped with a more outdated chip. Therefore, Apple may provide a specification upgrade for the existing VisionPro.
