Sam Altman Shares Ideas on Future of AI at OpenAI's DevDays

TapTechNews October 4th news, the tech media TheDecoder published a blog post yesterday (October 3rd), reporting that Sam Altman shared his thoughts on the future of artificial intelligence (AI) interaction at OpenAI's DevDays event.

TapTechNews attached the complete speech video as follows:

Envisioning the Future AI System

Altman described in the event an AI system that could change the way we use computers and interact with the world.

In the future scenario he sketched, users can walk up to a mirror and say whatever they want. Advanced reasoning models and agents will create custom interfaces in real time for each request, and users can interact through conversation or navigating personalized video sources.

Altman said, This will completely change the way we use computers and it will happen in every corner of the world. It's really crazy.

AI Agent Revolutionizing Experience

Altman indicated that the future development focus of OpenAI will shift from chatbots to AI agents, enabling people to complete tasks that usually take several months in just one hour.

Altman said, This will be a very important change in the way the world operates in a short period of time. Traveling to 2030, we look back and think that before humans needed to spend years honing things, now I just ask the computer to do it and it's done in just one hour. And we'll think, why can't we compress it further to be done in one minute.

Collaborating with Jony Ive to Develop Common AI Device

Altman didn't mention more details about the hardware, only revealing that this AI hardware is a new type of daily AI device mainly controlled through conversation.

Altman said that although OpenAI is getting closer and closer to realizing this ability in AI models, the main obstacles for such systems are trust, security, and alignment issues.
