TapTechNews noticed that although the world scale of many games far exceeds that of Elden Ring, its vast Lands Between still has an area of approximately 79 square kilometers, which is the largest work of FromSoftware so far, and the upcoming large DLC Elden Ring: Shadow of the Golden Tree further expands the game world.

Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that Elden Ring has reached a new height in the company's game scale, and it may be difficult to make a game larger than it in the short term. He admitted that if he tried to surpass the scale of Elden Ring now, he would be worried. This seems to imply that FromSoftware currently has no plan to develop a super-large game.

Hidetaka Miyazaki hinted that the company may turn to multiple smaller projects in the future to give more talented employees the opportunity to serve as directors.

In the same interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Golden Tree is the last expansion pack of this series. However, he is not against licensing the IP, he said: I am not against other forms of interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring, such as movies. However, he also believes that FromSoftware may lack the expertise to get involved in other fields.

In conclusion, Elden Ring is likely to be the pinnacle of FromSoftware in terms of scale, and the company may explore more diversified game types in the future. Although there are reports that the company is developing multiple projects simultaneously, but currently the official has not officially announced the specific plan.
