Apple iOS18 Adds T9 Dialing Function and More

TapTechNews June 11th news, for users who switch from Android phones to Apple iPhones, the lack of T9 dialing function may bring some inconvenience in use.

And in the latest iOS18 update, Apple has supplemented this function for the iPhone. Users only need to open the 'Dial Pad' in the 'Phone' application to use it. When making a call, just enter the first few letters of the contact's name, and you can quickly find the contact.

As shown in the above figure, iOS18 will automatically search for matching items in the contact list according to the user's search. For example, to call Johnny, the user can press 56466 (JOHNN), and the name and phone number of the matching person will appear at the top of the screen. Click the name to confirm and initiate the call.

The iOS18 Phone application also integrates call recording, automatic transcription functions, as well as enhanced searchable call history records, and there is also an option to seamlessly switch SIM cards.

The first developer preview version of iOS18 has been launched, and TapTechNews friends can experience the new functions by themselves, but call recording needs to wait for the Beta version in this autumn.
