G3 Tongling Yangtze River Rail-cum-Road Bridge is the world's first double-deck cable-stayed-suspension cooperative system bridge, with the advantages of both cable-stayed bridge and suspension bridge, and has the characteristics of large span, heavy load, and large stiffness. Compared with cable-stayed bridges and suspension bridges of the same scale, it has better economy and higher driving safety.

The total length of the bridge route is 11.88 kilometers and has three cross-river functions of expressway, intercity railway, and freight railway. The main span of the bridge is 988 meters. The upper deck is arranged as a 6-lane expressway with a design speed of 62 miles per hour; the lower deck is arranged as a 4-line railway, of which 2 lines are for the Hefei-Chizhou intercity railway, with a design speed of 155 miles per hour, and 2 lines are for the railway from Tongling South to Jiangbei Port, which will be extended to Zongyang later and connected to Anqing with a design speed of 75 miles per hour.

TapTechNews learned that the G3 Tongling Yangtze River Rail-cum-Road Bridge has adopted a number of new technologies and new equipment in the construction, with four firsts, eight technological innovations and 14 authorized patents and other achievements.
