China Unicom Saudi Arabia Officially Opens, Cooperates with Saudi Telecom

According to TapTechNews on June 9, China Unicom Saudi Arabia officially opened in Riyadh on June 6 of this year. Rafael Zuan, the chief strategy officer of Saudi Telecom Center3, said that it will cooperate with China Unicom in cloud services, technological innovation, and industrial digitization.

Wang Junzhi, director of China Unicom, pointed out that China Unicom will take this opportunity to actively carry out close cooperation with local Saudi operators and partners from all walks of life. Relying on China Unicom's international network resources and service capabilities, and using products such as international express lines, global intelligent networking, data centers, cloud-network integrated solutions, and Internet of Things solutions as well as comprehensive information solutions as the starting point, it will provide services for Chinese-funded enterprises in Saudi Arabia and local Saudi enterprises exploring the international market.

TapTechNews learned that China Unicom Saudi Arabia is the first Chinese telecommunications operator to obtain a Commercial Registration Certificate in Saudi Arabia, and it is also the first branch established by China Unicom in the Middle East. It is an important step in China Unicom's journey to strengthen global connectivity and digital transformation.

As of April 2024, the cumulative number of China Unicom's big connection users has reached 1.041 billion, the cumulative number of 5G package users has reached 271 million, and the cumulative number of Internet of Things terminal connections has reached 540 million; the number of 5G industry virtual private network service customers is 10,560; the customer problem-solving rate of the smart customer service in that month is 98.0%, and the proportion of intelligent services of the smart customer service in that month is 84.5%.
