In this month's ranking, although both the C language and C++ language indices have decreased, but because the decrease of the C language is more serious, this has instead led to C++ surpassing the C language and reaching the second position in the TIOBE ranking for the first time.

TIOBE's CEO Paul Jansen claimed that C++ was initially considered a 'better version' of the C language, but today after 39 years of development, this language has surpassed the C language in terms of popularity. 'The ranking of C++ in the TIOBE index has never been so high, and the ranking of the C language has never been so low'.

The main advantage of C++ is its performance and scalability. Since 2011, this language has been releasing a major update every three years. Although most compilers and engineers cannot keep up with this rhythm, this iterative strategy is considered'successful' by the industry. Currently, the relevant language is mainly used in various fields such as embedded systems, game development and financial trading software.

In addition to the competition between C++ and the C language, other notable highlights of the TIOBE index include Go language entering the ranking for the first time at the seventh place and Rust language debuting at the seventeenth place.
