For a long time, TSMC has been the exclusive chip manufacturer for Apple's A series and M series processors. Apple has booked 100% of all 3nm chip manufacturing capacity for the A17Pro chip used in the iPhone 15Pro model, the M3 chip used in the latest Mac, and the M4 chip used in the new iPadPro.

TrendForce disclosed that Apple executives were received personally by Wei Zhejia during this visit to TSMC. Apple's low-key visit this time is to ensure TSMC's advanced manufacturing capabilities, perhaps the 2-nanometer process, for Apple's internal artificial intelligence chips.

TapTechNews reported on April 11 that TSMC's 2nm chip research and development work has been on the right track, and the chips used by the iPhone 17Pro and iPhone 17ProMax launched in 2025 will be the first to use this process.
