China Mobile Announces Commissioning of Beijing Node of Computing Power Center

TapTechNews June 25th, at today's 2024 Beijing Mobile Computing Power Network Conference, China Mobile Beijing Company (Beijing Mobile) officially announced the commissioning of the Beijing node of the China Mobile Computing Power Center.

The Beijing node of the China Mobile Computing Power Center is located at the Beijing Changping Information Port Computing Power Center, covering an area of approximately 613000 square feet, deploying nearly 4000 AI acceleration cards, with a 33% localization rate of AI chips and an intelligent computing power scale exceeding 1000 PFlops.

It is reported that this is the first large-scale intelligent computing center for training and inference integration built by a communication operator in Beijing. After that, Beijing Mobile will also layout computing power resources in many places such as Xicheng District, Chaoyang District, and Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone, etc., to accelerate the upgrade of the intelligent computing center and form a super-large intelligent computing cluster of 'taking Beijing as the core and radiating the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Mongolia region', supporting the training and inference of 10-billion-level and 100-billion-level large models with high complexity and high computing requirements.

TapTechNews learned from the conference that Beijing Mobile also released the 'AI Product Business Ecosystem Platform', which integrates five modules including computing power management and scheduling, data annotation management, large model integration, intelligent agent factory, and test and evaluation center, and can provide users with integrated service capabilities of 'computing, network, data, model, and platform'.

At the meeting, Beijing Mobile signed cooperation agreements with Huawei, iFLYTEK, Zhipu Huazhang, Haitian Ruisheng, Yitu, Wangzhi Tianyuan and other ten partners from the upstream and downstream of the industry to form an intelligent computing ecosystem industry alliance to jointly promote the application of artificial intelligence technology in a wider range of scenarios.
