It is introduced that the relevant position requires the applicant to understand different CPU architectures, have knowledge of C and C++, assembly language, be familiar with English, and master the process of just-in-time compilation and ahead-of-time compilation. It is also suggested that the applicant understand game engines such as Unity and Unreal. Judging from these descriptions, Sony is likely preparing for an ARM architecture game console.

Besides Sony, according to the US court disclosure documents previously reported by TapTechNews, Microsoft is also considering introducing the ARM architecture for the Xbox game console. The company plans to redesign the CPU and GPU of the Xbox game console, in which the CPU part will switch to the ARM64vsx64 (Zen6) architecture. Only Zen6 will not come in the short term, and the GPU side will cooperate with AMD to develop a solution based on Navi5.
