TapTechNews reported on May 17th that LG launched the world's first rollable OLED TV, the SignatureOLEDTVR, in 2019, but it was not available for sale until 2020, and it was not available in China until 2022, selling for 777,777 yuan (approximately $120,000).

According to South Korean media Chosun, due to extremely low sales, LG has suspended production of the SignatureOLEDTVR and repurposed the production line for other TVs.

The SignatureOLEDTVR rollable TV features a 65-inch 3840×2160 resolution screen, supports HDR, 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 300-500 nits brightness, covering 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

In terms of specifications, this TV has a quad-core CPU (four A76 cores), supports 2.4G & 5G WIFI, runs on the WebOS system, and has 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

TapTechNews learned that the screen of LG's ultra-thin rollable OLED TV can be unfolded or closed in three modes according to the user's needs. Users can use panorama mode to watch favorite content, use function mode to add atmosphere to life, and fully utilize space through speaker mode.

Function mode supports functions such as music, clock, picture frame, ambient sound and light rhythm, or home panel; When the screen is rolled up and stored in the base, the TV switches to speaker mode, supporting a 4.2-channel 100W speaker with Dolby panoramic sound.
