European Smartphone Market Update in Q1 2024 Xiaomi's Redmi Models on the Rise
TapTechNews June 17th news, Canalys released the data report of the European (excluding Russia) smartphone market in the first quarter of 2024. The shipment volume increased by 2% year-on-year to 33.1 million units. Among the top 10 smartphone brands in terms of shipment volume, there are two Xiaomi Redmi models, namely Redmi 13C and Redmi Note 13 4G.
The report shows that except for Apple, the shipment volume of other brands in the European (excluding Russia) smartphone market in the first quarter of 2024 all showed an upward trend. Among them, Honor and Motorola showed a strong growth momentum with year-on-year growth rates of 103% and 73% respectively.
The top 10 smartphone models in terms of sales in the first quarter of 2024 in Europe include:
Three models of Apple iPhone 15Pro Max, 15Pro, and 15
Five models of Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24, A15, A15 5G, and A25 5G
Two models of Xiaomi Redmi 13C and Note 13 4G
Compared with the same period last year, the number of Apple's listed models remained unchanged. Samsung decreased from seven models to five, and Redmi is the only newly added domestic brand and has two models on the list at the same time.
The high-end smartphone market share in Europe in the first quarter of 2024 set a new record for the highest in the first quarter. Smartphones with a price of $800 or more accounted for 32% of the shipment volume. As the high-end market is more skewed towards the ultra-high-end, and the mass market is more skewed towards the low-end, the gap between price ranges is continuously expanding.
It is reported that the international version of Redmi 13C is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, and it is equipped with three storage spaces of 4/6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, as well as a 6.74-inch 1600x720 resolution screen.
The international version of Redmi Note 13 4G is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor, and it is equipped with three storage spaces of 6 + 128GB and 8 + 128/256GB, as well as a 6.67-inch 2400x1080 resolution AMOLED screen.
