Porsche Cayenne Recall in China 3780 Imported Cars Affected Due to Faulty Raw Materials

TapTechNews August 6th news, Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products, has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation and will recall some imported Cayenne series cars starting from August 31st.

This recall covers some imported Cayenne series cars produced from May 9th, 2024 to June 19th, 2024, a total of 3780 vehicles.

Porsche stated that for some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the use of the wrong raw materials in the forging process, the upper left trailing arm of the front axle may develop cracks, affecting the handling of the vehicle and increasing the risk of vehicle collision, presenting a safety hazard.

In this regard, Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will entrust authorized dealers to replace the upper left trailing arm of the front axle for free for the vehicles within the recall range to eliminate the safety hazard.

TapTechNews noted that the Porsche Cayenne is positioned as an SUV and is divided into five categories: Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne Turbo S, and Cayenne GTS. The starting price of the models on sale is 918,000 yuan, and the Turbo GT version is priced at 2,508,000 yuan.
