Elecom to Release USB Type-C Cables with USB4 2.0 Compatibility in Mid-December

TapTechNews October 4th news, Elecom announced today that it will release two USB Type-C cables compatible with USB4 2.0 in mid-December.

The product achieves a maximum transmission speed of 80 Gbps, which is twice the transmission speed of the previous USB4.

According to TapTechNews, on October 19, 2022, the USB-IF released the USB4 version 2.0 specification, which can achieve a speed of up to 80 Gbps on a 40 Gbps USB Type-C passive cable and a newly defined 80 Gbps USB Type-C active cable by using a new physical layer architecture based on PAM3 signal encoding.

Elecom officials said that one of the products supports 60W charging (20V 3A), while the other product supports 48V 5A with a maximum of 240W charging, and both products support 8K (7680x4320) 60Hz video output (DP).
